2009 CNN Hero of Year is............

Efren PeƱaflorida is been nominated as CNN Hero of Year Award for his pushcart classroom in the Philippines bringing education to poor children as an alternative to gang membership.  Well, I voted for Efren and I was one of the hopefuls for Efren to win this.  Few hours ago, Efren indeed made it to the top winning over 2 million votes worldwide.  Congratulations Efren.  Indeed this year is full of blessings for all Filipinos around the globe.

Today, Filipino Rodel Mayol, the number 1 challenger for the light flyweight crown in boxing will attempt his 4th time to capture the very elusive title.  Some say he's a bum after losing to Calderon twice for which I disagree.  I predicted Mayol will win this time easily against Edgar Sosa of Mexico and  just as I predicted Mayol won 2nd round via KO and we have a new world

champion now. Congratulations Rodel.

Manny Pacquiao made history on November 15, 2009

The "Pambansang Kamao" or known by many as the Pacman is a now 7-divisional champion, a feat that has never been done by anyone in boxing history. Truly, this victory is an awesome one, as Manny defied logic and silence his critics yet again. I have been following Pacman's career even during the days when is he fought Sasakul, where he won is first belt as flyweight. Winning convincingly and empathetically against a true welterweight in Cotto is something that can not be seen in decades to come. Pacman you truly made the Filipino people proud and Congratulations.

Set Up Virus and Spam Scanning on Ubuntu 8.10

Install of Amavisd-New on Ubuntu 8.10

One of the most frustrating problems with setting up any mail server is the configuration required for anti-virus protection and Spam checking. Amavisd-new provides an excellent tool to help in setting that up. This is a step-by-step process in providing your mail server, the example is Ubuntu 8.10, with the ability to scan all incoming mail for viruses and Spam.

apt-get install amavisd-new

Starting Amavisd-New
In order to get amavisd-new running, execute the command below to view content in debug mode so you can see what it is doing. One thing you will notice is that by default there is no virus program attached nor any scanning for Spam as it is disabled by default. The point to note here is the modules that it is using, the ports, and the general look and fell of the program.
